Unfriendly buses in Chennai

It was a surprising experience to travel in those typical Chennai inter city buses that caters to the needs of passengers to reach small towns and villages around Chennai. On 21st Feb 09, me and my spouse had a scheduled trip to Tiruchy from Chennai to attend a family get-together. As we reside in West Mambalam, we opted to travel by the city bus to reach Kyombadu to board the SETC bus to Tiruchy. We took a bus to Ashok Pillar first, as we got down from the bus at Ashok Pillar, the traffic was at its peak at around 8:00pm. As the one way system that has been introduced in Ashok pillar area, vehicle move along the road in an hapezard manner. On reaching Ashok Pillar, it was pretty tough to boad any city bus as usual they were all overflowing. A few Intercity buses that came by were all empty and we decided to board them. As soon as we stepped in we were cautioned by the conductor that the charge is 10rs per head to Koyambadu. But we ignored his waring and we boarded the bus. and look the last seat. This is were the nightmare started. As was about move into the window seat
